  • Integration of Australian Wool Services and Australian Wool Innovation

    22 December 2006

    The Chairman of Australian Wool Services (AWS), Barry Walker and the Chairman of Australian Wool Innovation Limited (AWI), Ian McLachlan have agreed to extend the timeframe for the MOU covering the integration of the two organisations to the end of March 2007. This follows from the discussions at the AWI-AWS Integration Steering Committee meeting yesterday.

    Australian woolgrowers will have their chance to bring their case against PETA and Animal Liberation for alleged illegal activity aimed at damaging the wool industry, with the setting of a trial date for later next year.

  • Australia - wide drought results in further decline in production

    A continued deterioration in seasonal conditions across Australia, with a failure of late winter and spring rain, has resulted in a further downward revision to Australian wool production in 2006/07.

  • AWI announces appointment of new CEO

    Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) Chairman Mr Ian McLachlan today announced the appointment of Mr Craig Welsh, as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AWI, effective Monday 5th February, 2007.
